Help us put some W.O.W. in the world — Wigs On Warriors!

Help The Gathering Place give free wigs to cancer survivors.

No one going through cancer treatments should have to pay for a wig. We can’t cure cancer (yet!) but we can empower those fighting it.

When I got breast cancer at 41, chemotherapy knocked out all my hair. I bought a wig, but the salon that promised to style it to look just like me ruined it. The thing looked like roadkill! My hair was already falling out, so I faced the world bald.

Going bald made me feel like a patient, not a person. Losing your hair can make you feel powerless, so let’s empower cancer survivors to look and feel their best.

Years after I recovered, I was speaking at a survivor event for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. They had a free wig salon! I took photos and gave The Gathering Place in Cleveland seed money to start a free wig salon.

We grew three! There’s a Regina Brett Wig Salon at The Gathering Place on the East side, the West side of Cleveland, and at MetroHealth hospital. We just launched a mobile wig salon.

Help make it easier for the next warrior. Please donate to keep our salons full of wigs.
